A. Personal Data (Account & Authentication)

  • Verification & Recovery Data: We collect and process One-Time Passwords (OTPs), login challenges, and reset tokens when you log in from a new device or request a password reset. OTPs are stored in hashed form and are never recorded in bare numbers for any purpose.
  • Profile Information: User preferences, revision strategies, and customized learning paths.

B. Device, Log, and Usage Data

To maintain security, manage active sessions, and optimize performance across both web and mobile, we automatically collect diagnostic data.

  • Web Log Data: When you visit the Website, our servers automatically record your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and the pages you view.
  • Device Identifiers: We actively collect your unique Device ID (device_id) during the App login process to detect if you are logging in from a new or unrecognized device. The device_id is a random string generated at the time of App installation.
  • Push Tokens: We collect Expo push notification tokens to send you verification codes (OTPs), alerts, and daily mission updates via the App.
  • System Analytics: We track specific authentication events (e.g., user_login methods via password or new device OTP) using our internal analytics to monitor platform health.

C. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

When you use the Website, we use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to customize and improve your experience.

  • Essential Cookies: Required for basic website functionality, such as keeping you logged in and securing your session.
  • Analytics Cookies: Used to understand how visitors interact with the Website so we can improve layout and content.

D. Assessment & Performance Data

Our core service is providing courses, mock tests, and practices. We extensively track your interactions with these modules.

  • Chat Logs: Messages, context cards, and conversation history generated within the in-app chat module (only applicable when the chat module is active for your account).

We use the information collected via our Website, App, and backend for the following purposes:

  • Strict Session Management & Security: We use your credentials, Device IDs, IP addresses, and login challenges to authenticate your identity, prevent unauthorized concurrent sessions, and verify new devices via push or email OTPs.
  • To Provide and Maintain Services: Creating your account, processing payments, managing your course enrollments, and delivering mock tests.
  • To Personalize Your Experience: Tracking your progress, generating personalized revision strategies, and updating leaderboards.
  • To Facilitate Communication: Operating the chat systems, responding to customer support inquiries, and delivering required security prompts and daily mission alerts.
  • To Improve the Platform: Analyzing authentication analytics, web traffic, system logs, and usage data to troubleshoot bugs and optimize the user interface.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is securely transmitted from the Brutal Learning App and Website to our backend databases at learn.ratioci.in.

  • Authentication: Web sessions are secured using encrypted cookies, while App sessions are secured using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) stored securely on your device.
  • Session Restrictions: Your account can be logged in on one device at a time. Changing devices requires OTP verification from a trusted device or via email, which automatically revokes the previous session.
  • Security Measures: We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information, including forcing logouts on unauthorized devices.
  • Backups: We maintain regular backup and restore mechanisms to prevent data loss.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following situations:

  • Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors that perform services for us, such as payment gateways (for processing transactions), data analytics, and notification delivery infrastructure (e.g., Expo).
